EPUAP announces the death of George Cherry
Dr George Cherry was well known to many EPUAP members, having helped found the association in 1996. For many years George and his wife Christine helped the EPUAP to develop to an organisation recognised internationally for its far reaching and innovative work.
He was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the EPUAP at the 10th EPUAP Annual Meeting in 2007, when he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award.
George worked for a substantial part of his distinguished career at the Department of Dermatology in Oxford and made significant contributions to the development of wound care internationally, to nursing research in wound healing and helped found other societies including The Oxford International Wound Foundation which ran the popular Oxford Wound Healing Summer Schools.
